Jaco was born and bred in Johannesburg, South Africa and has been running around frantically on the assembly hall stage since preschool.
After school he studied Audiovisual Production Management with Communication at the University of Johannesburg and kept his acting bug alive by performing for the UJ Arts Academy. He graduated in 2004.
Jaco decided to further his studies and obtained a BA(hons) degree in Drama with Film and Directing from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2005. It was in this year that he also met and signed with his agent.
Jaco has been acting professionally since 2006 and apart from film and television, still enjoys running up and down the planks of the stage.
As a director, Jaco has and continues to direct music videos as well as short-form content for a variety of corporate clients.
As a musician, Jaco enjoys playing his bass guitar on a session basis. He plays with a number of different acts.
